Mountain High super light-weight composite reinforced (aluminium) cylinder for aviation use.
This cylinder is supplied with a DIN-477(-9) valve with pressure gauge that shows the amount in the cylinder at all times with the valve open or closed.
With the optional Full Pack carry bag the cylinder is intended for portable ‘carry-on’ applications or with the optional CMK cylinder hold-down kit for permanent mounting.
This KF-011 cylinder is the perfect solution for cylinder installation far aft in the aircraft, where previously not possible.
A thin-wall, seamless aluminum (6061-T6) alloy ‘liner-cylinder’ is reinforced by a full over-wrapping of Kevlar fibers sealed in epoxy. This yields about a 50% to 60% weight savings over conventional cylinder technology without any compromise in safety.
This cylinder is preferred by many who build the state-of-the-art composite-fiber aircraft. It is made under a special permit DOT SP 8162.
If used in commercial applications or in a type-certified aircraft, the DOT service life is 15 years from Date of Manufacture (first hydro-test date) and hydro-tests are required every 5 years.
Delivery is without a pressure regulator.
